Partnering to Bring Resources to the Community

United Way of Greater Mercer County (UWGMC) continues to ensure valuable tools and resources are available to the community. UWGMC received $10,000 from SupplyHouse, a low-priced supplier of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies to homeowners, which will be used to provide various resources to the community.

200 families affected by Hurricane Ida will receive $100 gift cards to purchase fresh produce. Gift cards will be distributed to families and individuals through UWGMC’s partnership with Salvation Army Trenton and the Rotary Club of Trenton.

The funds will also be used to create personal care kits with items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and feminine hygiene products. In addition to that, 130 Education Kits will be created to spark a love of reading, arts, science, and math for area youth.

Rider University’s Black Student Union volunteers will be assisting with the creation of both projects that will then be distributed to the community.
