Providing PPE to Local Hospital

Amidst the pandemic, part of the United Way of Greater Mercer County’s (UWGMC) COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Efforts have focused on keeping our community safe. UWGMC partnered with Olight and Firmenich to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to frontline workers at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.

In response to the shortages of critical equipment, Olight donated 50,000 surgical masks, and Firmenich donated more than 50 gallons of hand sanitizer. St. Mary’s Medical Center in Pennsylvania – sister hospital to St. Francis – also received 50,000 surgical masks from Olight.

In addition to PPE, UWGMC coordinated a $15,000 donation from Olight benefitting St. Francis. The money was to support the hospital’s COVID-19 efforts.

“This means so much to the St. Francis team and the patients we serve,” said Daniel P. Moen, President and CEO, St. Francis Medical Center.

“Our sincere appreciation to our partners at Olight, Firmenich, and United Way of Greater Mercer County for demonstrating their commitment to keeping our medical professionals safe,” said Barry Gould, Director of Supply Chain & Clinical Engineering, St. Francis Medical Center.
